DODO Partners with OEM on New Model Development — Battery System Enters Sample Build
DODO is co-developing two new electric two-wheeler platforms with a partner OEM. The battery system has entered sample build, with the first DODO-pack-equipped prototypes now off the pilot line and into joint tuning.
The two platforms target different segments: a matte army-green sporty e-scooter with round LED lamp and orange bars for urban commuting and delivery, and a dark-green retro-cruiser e-motorcycle with classic round headlamp and tan seat for personal retro mobility.
Working with the OEM's engineers, DODO reverse-defines the pack from frame space and mounting points. The sample pack uses large prismatic aluminum-shell cells joined by copper-aluminum busbars, with BMS sampling and temperature harnesses routed along the array. Cells are arranged in an irregular layout to fit the frame's non-uniform space, balancing energy density and packaging.
The two sides run a parallel workflow: OEM definition, battery adaptation, joint calibration. DODO joined ahead of frame freeze to co-define the battery bay and develop cell selection, thermal safety and BMS strategy in parallel, shortening the path to production. Joint bench, endurance and climate tests follow.
DODO says the project upgrades the partnership from battery supply to platform-level co-development, and will keep delivering customized packs to speed the OEM's time-to-market.
Note: Model codenames, battery specifications and the OEM name will be disclosed officially by both parties in due course.
