Designing a Custom Battery Case Together — DODO Welcomes a Customer Team on Site

A customer engineering team visited DODO's Wuxi facility last week to jointly design a custom battery case for their electric two-wheeler platform. This was hands-on, working-table collaboration — not a remote e-mail discussion.

The two sides sat down at the workbench together, opened up the reference electronics, and went through the battery enclosure step by step: how the cells sit inside, where the connector lands, how the case mounts to the frame, and what the customer's local road conditions demand from sealing, heat and impact protection.

The customer team also brought their own charging gun. Our engineers opened it up and checked its contact, wiring and sealing against the charging port we plan to build into the battery case — so the case we design will match the customer's charging infrastructure from day one, not just "work with some standard plug".

The design was then checked against the actual motorcycle. The case position, bracket holes and clearance around the frame were verified on a real vehicle so that what works on paper also fits on the bike.

By the end of the visit the two teams had agreed on a draft battery case specification, including cell layout, connector type, mounting points and material requirements. DODO will now produce the first sample for the customer to test in their market.

If you are developing an electric two-wheeler and need a battery case — or any part of the powertrain — designed around your vehicle, our engineers are glad to work with you the same way, on site or remotely.
